Supporting Women Who Served: Bundaberg RSL Donates $2,214 to Bundaberg District Women Veterans Inc

The Bundaberg RSL was proud to present Bundaberg District Women Veterans Inc with a cheque for $2,214, raised through the Club’s ongoing raffle program.
These funds will directly support the Association’s vital work honouring, empowering, and advocating for servicewomen in our community.

Honouring a Legacy of Service Since 1967

Bundaberg District Women Veterans Inc has a remarkable history dating back to 1967, when local WWII ex-servicewomen gathered at the Bundaberg RSL to form a group that reflected the strong bond and “service-family” spirit forged during wartime.

Today, the Association proudly represents generations of servicewomen — from Anzac Cove to Afghanistan — including Commonwealth and Allied servicewomen, members of the Australian Women’s Land Army, and associate members who support their mission.

Their Mission & Impact

The Association continues to deliver essential support, connection, and advocacy for current and former servicewomen. Their work includes:

  • Fostering camaraderie, social inclusion, and wellbeing
  • Preserving and commemorating the history of women’s service in the ADF
  • Advocating for servicewomen across all eras
  • Providing welfare assistance and member support
  • Participating in local ESO networks to strengthen veteran services

Commemorating the Legacy of Servicewomen

Bundaberg District Women Veterans Inc has been instrumental in ensuring women’s military service is recognised and remembered. Their contributions include:

  • The Servicewomen’s Plaque (1983)
  • The ADF Women’s Memorial (2003)
  • Ongoing enhancements to the War Nurses Memorial

These projects stand as lasting tributes to the courage, sacrifice, and achievements of servicewomen throughout Australia’s history.

A Community Effort That Makes a Difference

We are honoured to support an organisation with such a proud legacy and ongoing dedication to our veteran community.

A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who purchased raffle tickets – your generosity directly supports the wellbeing and recognition of women who have served our nation.
