From humble beginnings to becoming one of Queensland’s most active ex-service organisations, our story is deeply rooted in honouring those who served and guiding the next generation of veteran support.

Executive Directors
Luke Harding - President
Luke served two years in the Royal Queensland Regiment Army Reserve before transferring to the Royal Australian Navy, where he served for 10.5 years as an Able Seaman Boatswain Mate Fire Fighter. His service included multiple postings across the Navy and participation in Operation Restore Hope in Somalia.
Today, Luke plays a central role in shaping the Legacy and Leadership of Bundaberg, leading the Sub Branch with a vision to position Bundaberg RSL as one of Queensland’s most respected ex-service organisations.
Dannielle Brearley - Secretary
Dannielle served five years in the Royal Australian Navy as an Able Seaman Boatswain Mate Navigators Yeoman. Her deployments included border patrols in Antarctica, active duty in the Solomon Islands, and peacekeeping in Timor Leste.
Passionate about mateship and welfare, Dannielle is committed to strengthening the Legacy and Leadership of Bundaberg by helping position the Sub Branch as a model for veteran services in Queensland.
Bernie Strohfeldt - Treasurer
Bernie served 12 years in the Royal Australian Army with the Royal Australian Corps of Transport, rising to the rank of Captain. His deployments included East Timor and Iraq, and his postings ranged from UN peacekeeping to shipboard logistics.
As Treasurer, Bernie actively drives the financial direction and commercial growth that supports the enduring Legacy and Leadership of Bundaberg.
Committee Members
Gloria Kilpatrick - Volunteer Coordinator
Gloria served in the Royal Australian Army as a Private with the trade of Op Keyboard Cypher.
With experience across several signal regiments, Gloria contributes to the Legacy and Leadership of Bundaberg by fostering inclusive, transparent, and engaging member experiences through her coordination of volunteers and events.
Ken Mayes - Committee Member
Ken plays a valuable role in supporting the governance and activities of the Sub Branch. His dedication to veterans' welfare and ongoing involvement reflects a strong commitment to the Legacy and Leadership of Bundaberg.
Jason Gear - Committee Member
Jason is actively involved in shaping the operations and direction of the Sub Branch. He brings a practical and community-focused approach to board matters, helping sustain the Legacy and Leadership of Bundaberg through meaningful local impact.
Raymond (Max) Francis - Committee Member
Max served 22.5 years in the Royal Australian Navy, reaching Petty Officer Marine Technician Grade 4. His deployments included the 1986 Fiji Coup, Operation Desert Shield, and Royal Duties in London.
Max continues to honour the Legacy and Leadership of Bundaberg by managing commemorations and preserving the Sub Branch’s proud history.
Chris Blackburn - Committee Member
Chris began his service in the Army as a Driver and Recovery Mechanic before transferring to the Air Force as a Fireman. Following 14 years of service, he built a successful business career.
Today, he supports the strategic direction of the Sub Branch and the ongoing Legacy and Leadership of Bundaberg.
